Burlington – Carolyn Farrell Hoggard, 83, passed away Monday, February 27th surrounded by her family at Twin Lakes Community – Coble Creek facility. She was the daughter of the late Hal and Ruby Farrell and the wife of 34 years to Oby Franklin “Frank” Hoggard. Frank passed away in 1992.
Carolyn graduated from Alexander Wilson School in 1958. She worked 20 years for Biomedical Reference Laboratories, Roche, now LabCorp. She retired from Roto-Plate.
Carolyn loved her family and spent her time with them every chance she could. She was known for her “witty” personality. She always had something to say to make you laugh, even up to the end. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Annette Rose (Sammy), Michelle Davis (Niven) and son Frankie Hoggard (Kim). Grandchildren, Dylan Rose (Kelly), Sherry Johnson (Derek), Nathan Gusler (Katie), Taylor Gusler, Schyler Davis, Ashton Hoggard (Mason), and Kylie McDaniel (Aaron). Great grandchildren, Bailey and Mia Johnson and Addison McDaniel. Sisters, Pat Baugus (Ron) and Dee Smith. Brother, Steve Farrell. All who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents and husband.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am on March 3rd in the Chapel at Lowe Funeral Home by Pastor Kevin Bunn with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 on Thursday, March 2nd at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Annette & Sammy Rose.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care and compassion that she received during the last 5 years at Twin Lakes – Coble Creek. A special thank you to her Twin Lakes family; Trell, Tameka, LaQuita, Christy, Buffie, Tori, Tom and Sheila.
