Carolyn Bass

Mrs. Carolyn June Thurman Bass, age 74, of 703 S. Fifth St., died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at her home after a sudden illness. Born in Winnsboro, LA, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Thurman and the late Doris Day Thurman and was married to the late Samuel Govie Bass, Jr., who died in 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in W. Monroe , LA. Mrs. Bass is survived by her daughter, Debra Bass Kinnin and husband, William, of Mebane; two sons, Floyd Bass and Raymond Bass, both of Mebane; three grandchildren, Ian, Nathan and Audrey Kinnin; three sisters, Jean Dalton and Marlene Grene, both of W. Monroe, LA and Paula Widner of Manassas, VA; and three brothers, Marshall Whatley, Donald Fife and Charles Fife, all of Mobile, AL. The funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop Keith Stanley. The family will receive friends following the service.
