Carol "Lady" Davis

Burlington – Carol Jones “Lady” Davis, 85, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1936 in Alamance County to the late Glidewell Last Jones and Mary Louise Nash Jones and was married for over 64 years to Fred Younger Davis who survives.

Carol worked in the Human Resources department at AT&T until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church in Burlington. Carol was a Bridge Life Master and enjoyed playing bridge as a member of the American Bridge Society; was an excellent cook and looked forward to attending Nascar races with her husband. After her retirement, the couple bought a motor home and drove cross country, spending a total of ten weeks sightseeing across the United States.

Survivors other than her husband, Fred Davis, include a daughter, Monica Davis Nicola and grandson, Zayn Nicolas Nicola; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington by Rev. Connie Baldwin.
