Carole Bare

Elon-Carole "Dianne" Smithey, Bare, age 71 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2015. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late William Joseph "Jack" Smithey and Ruby Deborah "Debbie" Stanford Smithey. Dianne was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church and a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Ernest Lee "Smokey" Bare, III and his wife, Samantha of Elon; daughter, Lori Bare of Elon; grandchildren, Edward "Matthew" Bare, Jacob Bare and Megan Bare; sisters, Brenda Farris and husband, Paul of Elon and Rebecca Apple of Elon; brothers, William J. "Buddy" Smithey and wife, Evelyn of Elon and Carlton "Butch" Smithey of Elon. She was preceded by her husband, Ernest Lee "Junior" Bare, Jr.; son, Joey Bare and her parents. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 3:30 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bobby Fann and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the sons' home located at 2513 Ossipee Front Street, Elon, NC 27244.
