Carol Prather

Carol Maw Faulkner Prather Burlington-Carol Maw Faulkner Prather, age 69, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 27, 2015. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 49 years to Gary Allen Prather who survives. Carol was a homemaker and longtime member of Staley Memorial Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Many family and friends referred to her home as Maws Kitchen since she treated everyone like family. Survivors include her husband, Gary A. Prather of the home; daughter, Kimberly Terrell Scott of Burlington and her son, Mark Allen Prather and wife, Michele of Oak Ridge; grandsons, David Scott and wife, Melissa, Joshua Prather and Brandon Scott and wife, Tanya; great granddaughters, Taylor and Hayley Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Devory Faulkner and Clara Austina Arnold Faulkner. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bennie Smith. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:45 pm on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
