Carol Collette King Norton, 63, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family after a sudden illness. She was born in Alamance County to the late George Lee "Red" King, Jr. and Malinda Lea Aldridge King who survives, and was the wife to Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Norton of 40 years of the home. Carol was a retired RN and Director of Nursing at the Skilled Nursing Division at Memorial Hospital of Alamance County. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 20 years and a member of Hope Church, she enjoyed planting flowers, cooking for her family, beach trips along with flounder fishing and spending time with her granddaughter, Cora that she adored. Carol was a very generous and thoughtful lady who enjoyed helping others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many. Survivors other than her husband, Ronnie and her mother, Malinda include her daughter and son-in-law, Ronna and Jon Stewart; son, Tanner Wayne Norton; granddaughter, Cora Rose Stewart and a grandson on the way, Jonathan "Cade" Stewart; brother, Robert Wayne King; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Larry Lashley. She was preceded in death by her father, George King, Jr.; infant daughter, Lauren Collette Norton and a grandchild. The funeral service will be held 1:00pm Saturday May 2, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Wood and Pastor Bruce Readling with burial to follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12:30pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the daughter's home in Graham.
