Carol Spinnett Angel Jones

July 29, 1941 — April 16, 2025

Haw River

Carol Spinnett Angel Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Alamance Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 29, 1941, in Providence County, Rhode Island, she was a person whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.

After several fulfilling years at Dollar General in Graham, she embraced retirement, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and commitment. Prior to her time at Dollar General, Carol contributed her skills at Winn Dixie in Graham and spent her earlier years providing care and cleaning for both business offices and clients residence, always willing to lend a helping hand.

She had a profound love for animals and created a nurturing home that revolved around family. Carol enjoyed spending precious moments with her loved ones, cherishing every laugh, hug, and memory generated within their bonds. Her involvement in the Baptist faith was a cornerstone of her life, enriching her soul and guiding her interactions with others; she was also an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #427 in Haw River, where she devoted her time and energy in support of her community and her fellow veterans.

Above all else, Carol cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Donna Angel Carter and Gary Elizabeth Jones Martin and her husband Jay, and her son, Mark Wallace Angel. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Shea Bryant, Robert Martin, Chad Steele, Kaylen Carter Speedling, Kimber Custer, William Martin and Jordan Martin; ten great-grandchildren who will carry forward her spirit of love and kindness, and several nieces and nephews. Carol is also remembered by her extended family, Tim Riley, Katie Riley, Megan Riley and Brandon Riley. Their cherished memories of her kindness and guidance will forever remain in their hearts.

Carol now has been reunited with her beloved ones that have preceded her in death; parents, George Malcolm Spinnett and Mildred Angell Spinnett, a sister, Lois Greene and brothers, Dennis and Dale Spinnett, along with her lifelong companion, Jerryl Douglas Loy. Their love and memories will continue to inspire those left behind.

Though Carol has departed from this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the light she brought into their lives.

The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
