Mrs. Carol Louise Punchard Brown, age 83, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Coble Creek Healthcare at Twin Lakes after several months of failing health.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Irving Punchard and the late Ethel Grebb Punchard and was married for over 62 years to Rev. Philip Sherman Brown, who survives. She retired from the Moore County educational system and was a member of Front St. United Methodist Church, where she was active in Women’s Circle #4. Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting coins and completing puzzles.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of the home; two children, Carla Lynn Long and her husband, Chuck, of Greensboro and Paul Steven Brown and his wife, Serena, of Bridport, England; four grandsons, Adam Long, David Long, Conor Long and Nat Brown; and three sisters, Marian Allen, Lois Frye and Joan Vasilik. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Paddy Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Front St. United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Heritage Center.
