Carl Owen

Carl Lemuel Owen, 70, also known as the "Big O" and "C.L.", passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital after several years of failing health. He was born in Person County to the late Carl Enoch Owen and Thelma Frances Whitfield Owen. He formerly worked with P&S Machine Shop. Carl was a US Army Veteran that served in the Vietnam War, avid gun collector, a welder and he adored his grandchildren and great grandson. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Francine Gail and Timmy Light; grandchildren, Mark Lesseur, Jr., Desarae Perla and husband, Carlos; great grandson, Charlie Perla and a great grandchild on the way; sisters, Majoyce Perry and Sarah Grayson Owen; brother and sister-in-law, Roger Dale and Joan Owen. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Thom Cox with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the sister, Sarah Owen's residence.
