Carl Franklin Bodsford, Jr., 83, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the hospice home surrounded by his family. He was born in Guilford County to the late Carl Bodsford, Sr. and Gretchen Jean Lumpkins Bodsford, and was married to Sheila Watkins Madren Bodsford for 34 years.
Carl retired after 33 years with AMP, Inc. in Greensboro. After his retirement he went to work as a bus driver for Elon University for several years. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves and member of Wicker Street Baptist Church where he was a choir member. Carl was a caller for Square Dancing and a Line Dance teacher for the “Smokin Boots”.
Survivors other than his wife, Sheila Bodsford include his children, Terri B. Hall (Jeff), Carol B. Hicks (Billy), Cheryl M. Williams (Chris) and Edward “Eddie” Madren, Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren, Christy Buffkin (Jeff), Anthony Neal Mayberry, Eddie Coble, Daniel Hicks, Alex Hicks and Megan Hicks, and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 20, 2020 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ricky Lewis with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park with military honors. The family will be at Cheryl Williams residence.
