Butch Henderson, 68, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County and was the son of the late James Wesley and Lucy Elizabeth Melton Henderson. He was married for 46 years to Alice Davidson Henderson who survives.
He was an active member of The Burlington congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved to be out in his ministry sharing his love for Jehovah with others. Butch was an avid reader, a big hugger and was known for his hospitality. He especially enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Butch was a loving, caring and devoted, husband and father. Although, he technically wasn’t a grandfather, he was affectionately known as “Papa Butch” to some close friends who he loved just like they were his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Alice; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dusty Henderson; son, William L. Henderson, Jr.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Jane Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth Henderson and siblings, Cookie Snow, Buck Henderson, Polly Lewis, Dixie Cox, Pete Henderson and Bobby Henderson.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2023 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Burlington. Slide presentation to start at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends Saturday at the Kingdom Hall and other times at the residence.
