Buren Journigan

Buren Shorty Journigan, 76, passed away Thursday at his home. He was born January 10, 1940 in Rutherfordton, NC to the late Robert N. and Frances Hodge Journigan and was married to Shirley Grubb Journigan for fifty-four years. He was the owner operator of Journigan Auto Service and he attended Temple Baptist Church. Shorty enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors and enjoyed woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home; children, Sharon Journigan, Ray (Debbie) Journigan, Christine Diane Journigan (Robert) Edens, Michael Journigan; grandchildren, Michelle (Trey) Chatham, Mike (Jennifer) May, Jr., Valerie (Andre) Lewis, Erica Journigan; great grandchildren, Morgan Chatham, Austen and Khloe May. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. James Black and Rev. William Todd. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
