Bruce Burgess

Bruce Gordon Burgess, 65, passed away Thursday February 26th at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born January 19, 1950 in Durham County to the late Jamie Gordon Burgess and Josephine Nicholson Burgess who survives and was married to Mary Laster Burgess. Bruce attended Hebron United Methodist Church and was a member of the Alamance Cattleman's Assoc., the Southern Ground Pounders and the Virginia Old Timers Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Mebane, a daughter, Nikki Crews and husband, Paul of FL; a son, William Bennie Felts II and wife, Hannah of Wilmington; grandchildren, Preston Lashley, Jacob Lashley and Thomas Crews. He was preceded in death by his father. The service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at Hebron United Methodist Church by Pastor Bryan Sexton, Jr. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 -1:45 Monday at the church prior to the service and at other times at the home.
