Brona Sue Bradshaw Whitt, 90, formerly of West College Avenue, Elon, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance. She was a native of Rockingham County and the wife of the late Kenneth James Whitt, for seventy- two years. Brona was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elon where she had formerly taught the Junior Girls Sunday School Class. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Survivors include a daughter, Lois Ann Clapp of Elon; sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence M. Whitt and his wife, Sheila of Elon, Garland E. Whitt and his wife, Joyce of Burlington, James "Gene" Whitt and his wife, Nancy of Elon and Ervin L. Whitt and his wife, Sandra of Elon; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents James Monroe and Sallie Scott Bradshaw, brothers; Walter Bradshaw, Lonnie Bradshaw, Roy Bradshaw, Harvey Bradshaw, sisters; Minnie Hudgins, Molly Alcon and Ruby Jones and Sudie Hutchins. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mark Mofield and Rev. Ben Whitt and the burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of her daughter Lois Clapp, 535 Meadowbrook Dr., Elon.
