Mrs. Broadus Irene Morris Scott, 91, formerly of Austin St. in Albemarle, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Carolina Commons Health and Rehabilation Center after several months of failing health. A native of Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Guilford Marvin Morris and the late Minnie Ada Blake Morris and was married for over 59 years to the late Willie Hill Scott, who died in 1992. She retired from Wiscassett Mills after many years service and later served as a sitter for people homebound with illness. Mrs Scott was a longtime member of Albemarle Wesleyan Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and was very active in missions. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ above all others. Mrs. Scott is survived by two daughters, Janice S. Page and her husband, Kenneth, of Graham, NC and Dorcas S. Suits and her husband, Terry, of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Kenneth S. Page and his wife, Tammy, of Burlington and James Kevin Page of Graham; and one great granddaughter, Jordan Alexandra Page. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; infant twins, Joseph and Phillip Scott; and two sisters, Beatrice Ulmer and Louise McSwain. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Ray Thomas and the Rev. Steve Saunders. The family will receive friends following the service. Another funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Albemarle Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Gary Waisner, Rev. Doug Beadle, and Rev. Darrell Rabon. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 1:45 prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to World Hope International, 625 Slaters Lane, Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22314-1176.
