Brett Ray

Brett Upshaw Ray, age 38, of 423 Cobblestone Ct. died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at his home after a sudden illness. Born in Houston, TX, he was a former employee of the Times News with over 20 years of service and was currently self-employed. He attended Lamb's Chapel and also Glen Hope Baptist Church. His passions included golf, fishing and hunting. Brett is survived by his daughter, Alli Brooke Ray of Graham; his mother, Debbie Upshaw Braxton and her husband, Mark, of Burlington; his father, David Hugh Ray of Pittsburgh, PA; grandparents, Dewey and Jerry Upshaw and Ethel Ray, all of Burlington; sister-in-law, Jennifer Ray of Graham and his niece and nephew, Cheyenne and Evan Ray. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey David Ray and his grandfather, Harry Lee Ray. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Fred Treadwell. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-10:45 Saturday morning prior to the service and other times at the mother's residence, 4578 Freedom Dr., Burlington.
