Gibsonville-Brenda Kay Tidwell Younger, age 70 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 37 years to Alton Leon Younger who survives. Brenda was employed with Western Electric for many years and later worked at Western Steak House and John's Restaurant before retiring. She was a member of West Burlington Church of God and enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved and adored. Brenda always had a smile on her face and was a gracious lady to anyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Alton Leon Younger of the home; children and spouses, Paula and Derek Smith, Todd Clayton, Amy Storey, Amanda and David Glenn, Chad and Cathy Younger, Brad Clayton, Kristen and Rodney King, Angel and David Prevatt; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Blanchard, Betty and Pete Wimbish; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Carole Tidwell, John and Joann Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Leroy and Wenona Florence Baker Tidwell; sisters, Doris Stansell and Mildred Hoyle; brothers, Richard Tidwell and Rev. Clarence Tidwell. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for Brenda during her illness. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00am at the West Burlington Church of God by Rev. Olin Tatum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
