Brenda Guffey

Graham, NC Brenda Durham Guffey, age 60, formerly of Union Ridge Road went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Alamance Health Care. She was a native of Caswell County and the wife of the late William Paul Guffey. Brenda worked for many years at Burlington Industries Williamsburg Plant and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and an avid nascar fan. Survivors include her daughters, Rita Burgess and her husband, Rodney of Graham, Nita Houck and her husband, Terry of Salisbury; grandchildren, Samantha Burgess, Cole Burgess, Alisha Burgess and Eric Houck; sisters, Linda Harris and her husband, Tommy of Gibsonville, Barbara Wagoner of Graham and Judy Revis of Burlington; brothers, James H. Durham and his wife, Millie of Gibsonville, Harold L. Durham of Durham, Billy E. Durham and his wife, Carol of Snow Camp. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Adolphus Harrison Durham and Bessie Shepherd Durham. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Alamance Health Care for their kind and compassionate care for Brenda over the past several years. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Walter Jones and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Rita Burgess on Boywood Road in Graham.
