Elon-Brenda Boone Allred, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at ARMC. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 52 years to Delmar W. Allred and the daughter of the late S.L. "Babe" and Vernie M. Boone.
Brenda was a homemaker and along with her husband, she worked hard on the family farm. She was a 1958 graduate of A-O High School. Brenda was a member of Concord Christian Church where she served on numerous boards and committees. She enjoyed being a part of the Ladies Fellowship. Brenda had many hobbies and interests, including gardening, canning, listening to Gospel music, making baskets, making stained glass pieces and fishing. Brenda was a special mother to her beloved special needs daughter, Kathy, and she was very proud of her grandchildren Grayson and Alayna.
Survivors include her husband, Delmar W. Allred of the home; daughter, Kathryn S. Allred of the home; son, Kenneth W. Allred and wife, LuAnn McPherson Allred of Elon; grandson and fiancée, Grayson W. Allred and Kelsi L. Basham of Elon and granddaughter, Alayna K. Allred of Elon; brother, Jerrell L. "Pit" Boone of Burlington and sisters, Sara B. Brown of Jamestown and Alice Faye Ross and husband, E.W. Ross of Burlington.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Concord Christian Church by Rev. Bruce Church and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. Immediately following the committal service the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
