Bonita Watson

Bonita Effie Dimont Watson, 91, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Ashton Place surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 27, 1928 in Guilford County to the late Lacy Roy Dimont and Effie Merritt Dimont and was married to the late Prentiss Watson, Sr. who died in 1995.

Bonita retired from Culp Mills and was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church.  Her favorite two sayings were “I Love Everybody” and “I Don’t Have A Pain In My Body”, and that is so true today.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Overman and husband Mack, Rebecca Sue Duggins and husband James, Cathy Lynn Price and husband Stacy and Elizabeth Ann Martin; stepdaughter, Glenda Sue Tarlton; 27 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.  Bonita was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Harold Dean Summers and James Summers; grandsons, Donald Hathaway and Chad Andrew Summers; step daughter, Sandra McLester; stepson, Prentiss Watson, Jr. and a brother, Billy Dimont.

A private service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2020 by Pastor Stephen Hall and Pastor Johnathan Graves, the burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.  To watch the service live and to sign the online register book, please visit www.lowefuneralhome.com.   Memorials may be made to Ashton Place Health & Rehab, 5533 Burlington Road, McLeansville, NC 27301.
