Bobby Ray Rose, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Sampson County and the husband of 62 years to Ann Parrish Rose who survives.
Bobby was a United States Air Force veteran and retired as the owner of Discount Furniture World. He had a passion for furniture that spanned over 60 years. His family said he truly loved what he did for a living. Being a great communicator, he enjoyed his relationships with both customers and friends of the business. Bobby attended Beacon Baptist Church for many years. He was an avid Tarheel fan and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing in his spare time. He loved traveling and spending time with his family at Topsail Island, NC and had planned several more trips, before losing his health to Parkinson Disease. Bobby was a true family man, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Parrish Rose of the home; sons, Ricky Alan Rose, Sr. and wife, Holly of Elon and Bobby Ray Rose, Jr. and wife, Lori Allen Rose of Gibsonville; daughter, Debra Rose Merritt and husband, Jim Merritt of Elon; grandchildren, , Ricky Alan Rose, Jr. (Taylor), Holden Rose (Jesi), Cameron Rose, Brandon Murray (Meredith) and Katie Murray, Robert Rose, Ashley Rose, James Merritt (Michelle), Gabrielle Buchanan (Brady); great grandchildren, Chandler Marie Merritt, Paisley Ann Merritt, Penelope Rose, Madison Rose, Ava Grace Rose and Easton Murray.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Colby Rose; parents, Raymond Alan and Mamie Lambert Rose; brothers, Horace, Stacy and Thomas Rose and a sister, Anna Jernigan. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Barbara Robinson who provided such loving, compassionate and gentle care each day.
A private service for the family will be held by Rev. Bob LaTour. Live streaming of the service will be available on Friday, April 10th at 4 p.m. at www.lowefuneralhome.com. There will be a private graveside service at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon. The family will be at the residence.
