Bobby Truitt

Bobby Gene Truitt, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Ashton Place after a short illness. He was born on August 16, 1934 in Guilford County to the late Walter Jack Truitt and Ollie Lee Edmonds Truitt and was married to the late Doris Purdy Truitt who died in 2010.

Bobby retired after 30 years with Lorillard Tobacco Company. He loved old cars, and enjoyed working on old tractors and lawnmowers.

He is survived by his daughter, Lois T. McPherson and husband, Keith; son, Robert G. Truitt and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Ricky (Shirley) Busick, Joshua (Amber) Busick, Chip (Cheryl) Huskey, Matt Melkus and Danielle Melkus; great grandchildren, Audrey Busick, Avery Busick, Rylee Rose Busick, Anthony Huskey and Truitt Huskey; son-in-law, Johnny Saunders; sisters, Virginia Satterfield and Martha Sue (Yogi) Ragan; brothers, Curtis Truitt, Clyde Truitt, Buck Truitt, Doug (Wanda) Truitt and Tommy (Gloria) Truitt.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Kathryn T. Saunders; parents and sisters, Betty Cox and Sarah Garrison.

There will be a gathering from 5 to 7pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times the family will be at the daughters' home. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
