Bobby Hensley

Bobby Riley Hensley, age 84, passed away on November 13, 2013 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Bobby was born December 22, 1928 in Burlington, North Carolina to the late H. D. and Cora Hensley. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1947, served in the Korean Conflict for 2 years, and then graduated from Elon College in 1955. Bobby worked at Bellcore for 45 years, retired in 1993, then moved to Daytona Beach. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church. Bobby enjoyed walking on the beach, sports and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Hensley and Vestal Hensley, and a sister, Anna Louise Barker. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Suzanne Hensley, Marianne Rick Floyd, Annette Morrow, Lisa Hensley, Jim Susan Hensley, Rosanne Prasuhn; twin brother Billy Judy Hensley; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 16th, 2013 at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington. Visitation will be held 1:30 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fisher House Foundation at www.fisherhouse.org.
