Bobby Bumgardner

Bobby Gene Bumgardner, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 27, 2012. Husband of the late Elizabeth Faye Allen Bumgardner, he was born December 24, 1935 in Cramerton, NC to the late Roby "R.P." and Myrtle Page Bumgardner. He served in the US Army 82nd Airborne and retired from the Dental Research Facility at UNC. He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and an avid Tarheel fan.. Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Bumgardner Richard Horner of Burlington, Debra Collins Colan Ingle of Lexington, sons, Keith Karen Bumgardner of Reidsville, Allen Kay Bumgardner of Chapel Hill , Mark Christy Collins of Mebane, children's mother and friend, Mildred "Duck" Bumgardner of Graham, brothers Clyde Betty Bumgardner of Lowell, NC, Jimmy Bumgardner of Atlantic Beach, NC, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a daughter Teresa Denise Bumgardner, sisters, Lorene Waddell, Margie Byrd, brothers, Charles Bumgardner, Glenn Bumgardner, Carroll Bumgardner and a granddaughter Kelsey Lane Bumgardner. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Linwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home and at other times at 314 Trail Four in Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
