Bobby Bruner

Bobby Dale Bruner, 76 passed away Tuesday May 8, 2018 at the V. A. Hospice Center in Durham. He was born September 29, 1941 in Mt. Airy, NC to the late Roy Lester and Ida May Wood Bruner. He was married to Darlene Bruner for sixteen years.
Bobby served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of Concord Christian Church. He owned and operated Sandy Cross Body Shop for many years as well as Bruner's Vegetable Farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He also enjoyed picking, buying/selling antiques and his beloved beagles.
Survivors include his wife Darlene; daughter, Sherry Baird and special friend Sid Witmer; son, Bryan Dale Bruner and fiancée Eva Cushman; grandsons, John Longest and wife Carmen, James Hamilton Baird III; great granddaughter, Sadie Longest; brothers, Charlie Bruner, Harold Bruner and wife Pam and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester Bruner, Winford Bruner, Smith Wayne Bruner, John Henry Bruner, J.B. Bruner; sisters, Sally Eden, Betty Bruner Love and former wife Martha Bruner.
The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bruce Church. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and at other times at the home of his daughter Sherry.
