Blanche Virginia Lacks Duffer, 83, of 1829 Wood Ave. passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 at Carolina Commons Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Greensboro following several years of failing health and 1 week critical. She was the wife of the late Richard Wade "Rink" Duffer and the daughter of the late Arthur Jason and Ida Williams Lacks. Blanche was a native of Red Oak, Virginia, a member of Calvary Baptist Church for forty years and had served as a Sunday School teacher. She retired from K-mart after many years of service. Survivors include her son Roy Duffer and his wife Louise of Burlington, a daughter Barbara Ann Adams and her husband Howard of Conroe, TX, a sister Mary Brinn and her husband Lloyd of Saxe, VA, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers; Walker Lacks, Lennis Lacks and Floyd Lacks. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Thursday December 29th at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ernest Beck. Entombment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
