Bingham Wilson, Jr.

Bingham Rose "B.R." Wilson, Jr. was born August 3, 1922 to Bingham Rose and Cara Alberta Rogers Wilson. He grew up in Graham and lived most of his life in the Burlington area. After a brief hospitalization, B.R. went to be with the his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. He was a loyal friend, devoted father, a loving brother and beloved grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He married Margaret Elizabeth Barger August 26, 1942, a marriage that lasted until Margaret's death forty-four years later. He held many managerial positions in the grocery store business throughout his career. He served as Elder for many years at Northside Presbyterian Church. His favorite Bible verses were Psalm 23 and John 3:16 and his favorite hymn was How Great Thou Art. Survivors include his sons, Thomas Edward Wilson and wife Diane of Columbia, SC, James R. Wilson and wife Beverly of Snow Camp and Neil Franklin Wilson of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Gent Wilson of Charlotte; grandchildren, Ruth Anna Marshall, Rachel Case, Reba Ball, Sarah Johnson, Ben Wilson, Angela Wilson, Amy Westfall, Rebecca Stanley, Brandi Medley, Chelsea Watkins, Daniel Wilson, Martha Segar and Makenna Wilson; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Delana Wilson of Newport News, VA; brother, Roger Wilson of Gibsonville and his dear friend Minnie Needham. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Barger Wilson; his eldest son, Rev. Charles Leonard Wilson; brother, Willard Wilson and sister, Margaret Jane Perry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 9, 2011 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Paul Speagle. Interment services, with military honors, will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Wilson will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Thursday. Following the graveside services, friends and family are invited to a reception at the Gibsonville Evangelical Church in Gibsonville.
