Billy Champion

Elon - Billy Ray Champion, age 67, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Harnett County on July 12, 1950 to the late Lonnie and Libby Holt Champion and was the husband of 22 years to Janice Vance Champion.

After Billy retired from the trucking company, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Billy loved spending as much time as possible outdoors. He loved roping and riding his horses as well as anything else he could find to do outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Champion; daughters, Tonya Champion Williams, Leslie Champion Hayes and husband, Jason, Angela Coble and husband, Lindsay; sons, Jeramy Ray Champion, Bryant Walker and wife, Jana; nine grandchildren and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Tuesday, May 22nd at the funeral home and other times at the home. The funeral will be held at 2pm on Wednesday May 23rd in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel, with the graveside following at Alamance Memorial Park.
