Billie May

Mr. Billie Lee "Bill" May of Burlington died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center after five months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Doyle J. May and the late Jessie Lee Mann May. Bill was an U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was a Vice-President with Graham Savings Bank and retired with over 20 years of service. Bill was of the Baptist faith and attended Union Ridge Church. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and enjoyed animals, especially bird watching. Mr. May is survived by his daughter, Brittany C. May of Mebane; five nieces, Kathy Garry Gates, Suzanne Everette, Jennifer Jonathan Cornetto, Stephanie Haney, Cynthia Robert Miller; a nephew, Joe Keith Loy; a brother-in-law, Ron Smith of Burlington; and a very special friend, Sarah Graham Johnston of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kay Frances May Loy and Judy May Smith. The funeral service will conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dan Ficklin and Rev. Garry Gates. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
