Burlington Mrs. Beulah Elliott Forbis, age 93, of 202 Tyndall Dr. passed away at 2:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2012 at Hospice Home. A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife of the late Virgil Major Forbis and daughter of the late Joe and Rosa Smith Elliott. She was of the Baptist faith and always a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Beulah was a lifelong homemaker where she pampered her family with homemade biscuits, chili and her famous "juicy chocolate cake". She also enjoyed a weekly family gathering for a game of setback, her favorite card game, and a chance to showcase her hobby of floral creations. Survivors include her children, Winfred Forbis and wife Paulette of Liberty, Hazeleen Forbis of the home, Richard "Pete" Forbis and wife Betty of Burlington, Linda Bowman and husband Harry of Graham; daughter-in-law, Brenda Forbis Williams of Graham; grandchildren, Jeffrey Forbis and wife Regina, Carlton Forbis and wife, Judy, Lisa Dodson and husband Tommy, Brian Forbis, Angela Childers and husband Philip and Marissa Forbis; 17 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Gary Alton Forbis; brothers, Eddie, Elmer and Ernest Elliott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn. Interment will follow in Graham Memorial Park. Mrs. Forbis will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8pm Wednesday and at her home at other times.
