Betty Vestal

Graham - Betty Lee Brothers Vestal, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Guilford County to the late Ben and Margaret Brothers and was the wife of 62 years to the late Allen Monroe Vestal.

Betty was a charter member of Beacon Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday School and faithfully served in many other capacities. Her primary focus was as a homemaker, but she worked at various hosiery mills. She was a wonderful cook, loved baking and enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty spent most summers canning and freezing vegetables she and Allen picked from their garden.

Survivors include her sons, Lee Vestal (Sue) and their children, Christopher Vestal (Claudia), Janet Kelly (Ryan) and Jeremy Vestal (Maria); Ben Vestal (Robin) and their children, Cassidy Payne (John), Benjamin Vestal (Meghan), Courtney Hooten (Nathaniel) and Dylan Vestal (Keren); Mark Vestal (Donna) and their daughter, Chelsea Mueller (Jon); a daughter, Lori Herron Craig (Dwayne) and her daughter, Caitlyn Craig; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Windham and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters and two brothers.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Beacon Baptist Church by Pastor Greg Barkman with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:45pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the daughter's home.
