Betty Sutton

Gibsonville – Betty Sue Blackwood Sutton, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Blakey Hall Assisted Living.  She was born in Orange County on May 19, 1932 to the late Theodore and Bettie Parker Blackwood and was the wife of 67 years to Billy Gene Sutton who survives.

Sue was a longtime member of Springwood Presbyterian Church and retired from Dixie Belle Textiles after 30 years of service.  She enjoyed reading, crafts and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Erin. Sue was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Billy; daughter, Jody Sutton Thrasher and husband Conway; son, Billy Michael Sutton and wife Dana; granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Frye; sisters, Ann Ashley, Gail Kelly; brother, Lewis Blackwood and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Maxaline Oakley and Wilma Adams.

A private service will be held at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.  A video of the service will be available at 12:00pm on Wednesday at www.lowefuneralhome.com. You may sign the register book and view the tribute video at the funeral home from 2-5pm on Tuesday.
