Betty Simmons

Burlington –Betty Ann Moore Simmons, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Brian Center in Eden.

She was born in South Hill, VA on September 7, 1939 to the late Robert James and Mattie Kidd Moore and was the wife the late Pastor Garland Lester Simmons, Sr.

Betty was a homemaker who served faithfully beside her husband as he pastored Maranatha Baptist Church for 37 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Becky) Simmons, Beverly (Howard) Bray, Butch (Delana) Simmons, Donna (Ricky) Crutchfield, Anita Thursa (Chris) Kidd, Tommy (Mandy) Simmons; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Clyde Moore and Lonnie (Peggy) Moore and a sister, Jean Morris.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David S. McDaniel with the burial to follow at Carolina Christian Church Cemetery.  You may also visit www.lowefuneralhome.com to live stream the service.
