Betty Kimberly Settlemyre also known as Betty Kim, 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surround by her family. She was born in Forsyth County on February 18, 1960 to the late Rev. John William Settlemyre and Betty Pfaff Settlemyre who survives.
Betty Kim formerly worked at Vocational Trade for many years. She was a member of Mt. Hope United Christian Church; she enjoyed coloring, working puzzles, opening her mom’s old mail and spending time with her family and friends. Betty Kim was known as a unique individual who knew what she liked and what she didn't like.
Survivors other than her mother, Betty Settlemyre include her cousins, Stacie Queen and husband Todd and Bronwyn Queen and husband Alex; a dear friend, Billy Swain; and all of her family at the Ralph Scott Home. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Terri Lynn Settlemyre and a brother, James “Tony” Anthony Settlemyre.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at Ralph Scott Lifeservices for their loving care and compassion that was shown to Betty Kim through the years.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dan Ficklin with the burial to follow at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Kristen Gerner-Vaughn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45pm Sunday prior to the service and other times at Betty’s home at the Village of Brookwood Apt. #222.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ralph Scott Lifeservices Main Office, 408 West Trade Street, Burlington, NC 27217 or to Mt. Hope UCC, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Road, Whitsett, NC 27377. You may sign the online register book and watch the service at www.lowefuneralhome.com.
