Betty Scott Riggsbee

     Betty Scott Riggsbee, 95, went to her eternal home on the evening of Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after several months of failing health.   

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, and her daughter, Sara Mandalinich.  She is survived by her son, Scott Riggsbee; son-in-law, David Mandalinich; friends and caretakers, Chuck and Lynne Ratliff; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

     Betty was born and raised in Middlesboro, KY as one of the five children of Charles and Katie Scott.  She was married to Lloyd Riggsbee for sixty-eight years until his death in January 2015 at which time she moved from Chapel Hill to the Twin Lakes Community in July 2015.  

     Betty enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her family, her church and many friends.   She was an avid fan of UNC men’s and women’s basketball teams and was a member of Amity United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, NC. 

     There will be a memorial service held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Amity United Methodist Church, located at 825 N. Estes Dr., Chapel Hill, NC.  A repass will follow the service at the church.
