Mrs. Betty Garrett Phillips, age 86, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Liberty Commons after several months of failing health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late William Coy Garrett and the late Izona Foust Garrett and was married to the late Robert Donald Phillips, who died in 1999. Betty worked in the textile industry for many years and was a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Bible Class Sunday School Class. She had the gift of creativity and used those talents to serve her church. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her three daughters, Brenda P. Greeson and her husband, Gary, of Whitsett, Patricia P. Euliss and her husband, Wayne, of Burlington and Janice P. Graves and her husband, Mark, of Harrisburg, NC; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a daughter, Jackie P. Copeland. A service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by Rev. Charles Ireson. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.
