Betty Barbour Perkinson, 90, passed away Saturday May 25, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 5, 1929 in Durham County to the late Vass and Ruth Carroll Barbour and was married to John Perkinson for 69 years. Betty worked for Kayser-Roth and Kernodle Clinic in the accounting departments. She was a member of Ireland St. Chapel and the Ladies Missionary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, arts and crafts. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, John Perkinson; son, Mike “Perk” Perkinson(Lisa); granddaughter, April Perkinson Qualls(Justin); step-grandchildren, Kristyn Saul Lindley(Austin) and Dustin Saul(Haley). Great-grandchildren, Hannah Qualls, Lainey Qualls and Lincoln Qualls; step great-grandchildren, Declan Lindley, Berklynn Lindley, Baby Saul(due in December 2019) and a brother Vass Barbour, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret Crabtree, Mary Franklin and brother George Barbour.
The funeral service will be held 12:00pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Donald Perkinson. Entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 10:30-11:30am Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
