Betty Overman

Betty Louise Jones Overman, 86 of Whitsett passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Albert and Nettie Ross Jones and was married to the late Charles Douglas Overman. She retired from the Gibsonville Flea Mart and was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Overman Greeson and husband Ronald S. of Whitsett; grandson, Ronald Douglas Greeson and wife Christine W. of Charlotte; great grandchildren, Sydney Greeson and Christian Greeson, both of Charlotte; sister, Mary Lee Pettigrew of Burlington and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Kathleen M. Rich, Evelyn Burnett and brothers, Fred, Sam, Bobby, Gene and Joe Jones. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Overman and Sybil Parks, Pastor of Gibsonville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter.
