Betty Long

Burlington - Betty Jean Staley Long, 86, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at UNC Hospital suddenly. She was born in Alamance County on April 15, 1931 to the late Paul Bolivian Staley and Foy Jane Welch Staley and was the wife of 68 years to Johnny Eugene Long who survives.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of Hopedale Christian Church.

Survivors other than her husband, Johnny Long include her sons, Anthony Long and wife, Darlene, Scotty Long and wife, Tammy; daughter, Jeanie L. Neese and husband, Doug; grandchildren, Brandon Long, Nikki Murray, Lauren Neese, Travis Long and Ryan Long; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Lairron Staley, Jimmy Staley and wife, Sandra and a sister, Christy Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul Staley.

There will be graveside service to celebrate her life on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00 am by Rev. Dan Cubino at Alamance Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hopedale Christian Church, 909 Deep Creek Church Rd., Burlington, NC 27217.
