Betty Lue Hodges, 80 passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family in Graham. Betty was born on September 23, 1943 to the late Walter Eldridge and Sarah Lue Wagoner Hodges.
Betty was employed for many years with Meredith Webb Printing. She loved cooking for her family on all holidays, that’s what was special to her. She made sure that each one got what they wanted for Christmas and birthdays. Betty enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and listening to old Southern Gospel Hymns. She loved to watch Let’s Make A Deal, The Price is Right, the Soaps, Family Feud, The News and of course Westerns. We all know how much she loved that man, Elvis Presley! Betty was the happiest when she had her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her great great grandbaby in her home. She loved talking on the phone with her brother Eldridge about old times and loved spending time with her sister, Kathy.
She is survived by her daughters; Betty Lue “BG” Hodges of Snow Camp, Shelia Marie Martin of Graham and Sandra Lee Martin of Graham; sons. Rickie Tootie Hodges of Whitsett and Richard Beverly Martin, Jr. of Graham; grandchildren, Chester Baize, Casey Baize, Cristy Baize, Taylor Elizabeth Kimrey and wife, Karissa, Jennifer Marie Bradley, Lisa Jo Bradley; great grandchildren, Chase Breeden, Christian Baize, Millie Lue Rose Breeden, Cherish Craven, Nevaeh Craven, Noah Craven, Nikko Smith, Olivia McRainey and Scarlett McRainey; one great great grandchild, Harmony Nicole; sister, Kathy Hodges of Graham and a brother, Eldridge Hodges and wife, Betty Jean of Haw River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Margaret Costner and Mary Martin.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Steve Pruitt and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at Betty Lue Hodges home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Authoracare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for their mother.
