Betty Cranford

Mrs. Betty Lou Lassiter Cranford, age 87, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred David Lassiter, Sr. and the late Swannie King Lassiter and was married for over 47 years to the late John Vaden Cranford, who passed away in 2001. She retired from Annedeen Hosiery and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Cranford is survived by her three sons, Ricky Dean Lassiter and wife, Arlene, of Burlington, Vaden Wesley Cranford of Raleigh and John DeVon Cranford of Burlington; five grandchildren, Betty Troxler, Kathy Tingen, Wanda Troxler, Bryan Lassiter and Rod Redd; nine great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Greer of Burlington; a brother, Curry Lee Lassiter of Burlington; and a son-in-law, Robert Redd. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Wanda Sue Redd; five sisters, Christine Rudd, Mattie Mae Self, Mary Bowman, Deloris Porter and Sara Jane Lassiter; and four brothers, Alfred D. Lassiter, Jr., Hulon Lassiter, John Lassiter and Hal Lassiter.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Darrell Massey. Interment will follow at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the residence.
Betty's children would like to acknowledge White Oak Manor and Piedmont Health Care for the care and "smiles" that they provided and a special thanks to Kathy and Lonnie Tingen for bringing Betty into their home and providing exceptional and loving care for the past six years
