Betty Cook

Elon-Betty Pope Cook, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Hospice home surrounded by her family. She was born in Davidson County to the late Raymond Dennis Pope and Ila Melissa Leonard Pope and was the wife of 59 years to the late Melvin Lowe Cook who died in 2010.
Betty was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship and worked for many years for Annedeen Hosiery. She was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (David) Honeycutt of Elon and Donna (Dennis) Connerley of Floyd, IA; grandchildren, Daniel, Angela and Kelly Connerley , Jonathan (Erin) Honeycutt and Michael Honeycutt; great grandchildren, Austin and Faye Connerley and Sadie Honeycutt; sisters, Laraine(Fred) Cooksey of Bloomington, Indiana and Martha Burt of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Terry (Vickie) Pope of Archdale . She was preceded in death by husband, parents, step mother, Louise Pope; sister, Jeanetta Pope and an infant brother.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tim Pope and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Susan Honeycutt.
