Betty Sue Byerly

Elon – Betty Sue Byerly, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2024 at ARMC surrounded by her family. Betty was born on April 18, 1952 in Guilford County to the late Walter Levi Byerly, Sr. and Edith Katherine Gilbert Byerly.

 Betty worked for several years in fast food restaurants and most recently was employed at the Gas House in Glen Raven, She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flowers and her yard. Betty loved animals and her great grandkids fur bunny’s. She loved the beach, country music anything related to “Garfield” and an occasional bourbon. There are many fond memories of her tromping with her sisters to yard sales and bargain hunting in general. 

 Betty is survived by her life partner, Edward Gallagher and her son, Christopher Michael Davis and wife, Linda of Jacksonville, NC; granddaughter, Nikki Eldred and husband, Justin of Elon and several other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Xander and Aurora Eldred; her sisters, Peggy Jean Mansfield of Elon and Debbie Sue Hunsucker of Virginia; brother, Walter Levi Byerly, Jr. of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kathy Sue Byerly and Faye Maria Byerly and a brothers, Jerry Lee Byerly and Joseph “Joe” Edward Byerly.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Eric Dudley. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
