Mrs. Betty Ann Blackburn Bennett, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday,
July 5, 2016 at White Oak Manor surrounded by her family and Hospice personnel.
Betty was born October 25, 1938 to the late George Anderson and Elsie Venable Blackburn in Charles City County, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Bennett, Sr.; two sons, Douglas Lamar Bennett and George William Bennett, Jr.; one daughter, Brenda Faye Bennett Wright; two brothers, David Franklin Blackburn and William Morton Blackburn; and one sister, Lillian Irene Blackburn Salmon.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lois Elaine Bennett Blair and husband, Donald Wade Blair, of Burlington and Theresa Ann Bennett Powell of Gibsonville; one granddaughter, Brittany Taylor Harding of Gibsonville; two step�grandchildren, Kellie Madison Blair Phillips of
Wise, Virginia and Jordon Lucas Wade Blair of Staley, NC; two brothers, James Edward Blackburn and Charles Gordon Blackburn and wife, Linda; three sisters, Mary Lee Blackburn Wilder, Wilma Blackburn Burnell and Susan Rose Varner, all of Sanford, NC; one very special sister�in�law, Ernestine Blackburn of Sanford NC; and one very special son�in�law, Joseph James Wright Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Graham, NC.
Betty retired in 2002 with over twenty years as part Owner/ Operator of Piedmont Transit, INC. and also Piedmont Tours of Burlington, INC. Betty was one of Jehovah's Witnesses
and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gibsonville, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 3401 Suits Road, Gibsonville, NC. Betty's family will receive friends at the home of Donald and Lois Blair, located at 4608 Meadowlark Court, Burlington, NC.
Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gibsonville.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Hospice of Alamance and the staff at White Oak Manor for their loving care and kindness.
