Elon – Betty Kasey Apple, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at White Oak Manor after 8 years of failing health. She was born in Brown Summit on April 5, 1935 and was the wife of nearly 45 years to the late Milton Apple. She would help him farm each summer and worked in hosiery mills every winter until he quit farming. Betty went on to work as one of the prep cooks at Cracker Barrel Restaurant when it opened in Burlington. She was a member of Johnson Baptist Church and loved cooking for her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Apple Richardson (Bennett); son, Ronald Wayne Apple (Carol); grandchildren, Brandy Anderson, Jessica Richardson, Kathryn Richardson, Natalie Waddell, Allison Apple; great grandchildren, Sophia Anderson, Landon Waddell, Wayne Apple, Lucas Apple, Alexander Ely and Kaison Waddell. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Ruby Waynick, Mittie Mullis and brothers, Richard Gordon and Lawrence Gordon.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joel Pankratz, Pastor of Salem Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the daughter’s home.

The family wishes to thank Dazzle Oakley for faithfully serving Betty for years as her hair stylist; the staff at White Oak Manor and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for taking care of her these last three months.
