Betty Allen

Mrs. Betty Jean Oakes Allen, age 66, of 3947 N. NC Hwy 119, lost her battle with cancer and went home to be Lord on March 14, 2012 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. She went peacefully surrounded by her family. Betty was born on July 4, 1945 in Caswell County and was the daughter of the late Jonah Oakes and the late Evelyn Weaver Oakes Yandel and was married for over 6 years to Brodie Holt Allen, who survives. She was a member of Beverly Hills Christian Church and was a retired homecare Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband of the home; a step daughter, Teresa A. Welch and her husband, Shawn; two step grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Ray and Zachary Shane Welch; four sisters; a brother; several nieces and nephews; and "Buffy", her loving companion and pet. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. The family will receive friends at a later date.
