Bert Austin

Mebane-William Bertis "Bert" Austin, 65, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Hospice home. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorcas Patricia Durham Austin and was a native of Alamance County.
Bert retired after 37 years with Hancor /Advance Drainage Systems as plant manager. He was a member of 28 years of the Hawfields Civitan Club. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Dorcas Austin; daughter, Stacie Oxford and husband, Scott and a son, Eric Austin; sisters, Imelda Hunley and husband, Dan, Mary Jane Coble and husband, Ronnie; sisters-in-law, Nancy Holloway and Dolores Norris; brother-in-law, Wayne Durham and wife, Cherie and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Milton and Frances Elizabeth Brincefield Austin.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sam Jenkins. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
