Bernadine Kavos Pickard

Bernadine Kavos Pickard, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born on July 6, 1929 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to the late Nicholas Kavos and Frances Iwanaki Kavos, and was married to the late Clyde Garland “Bud” Pickard who died in 1984.

 Bernadine retired after 40 years as an Elementary School Teacher where she enjoyed working with children. She also enjoyed reading, walking and riding the bus in Miami to all the shopping areas.

 She is survived by her step daughter, Christine Bishop and husband Neil; grandchildren, Jordan Bishop and Ryland Bishop; a sister, Delores Jean VanCamp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, George “Jimmy” Kavos and Theodore “Ted” Kavos.

 Bernadine will be buried beside her late husband, Bud Pickard at Alamance Memorial Park on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 10:00AM.
