Benny Moorefield

Burlington-Benny Lewis Moorefield, age 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior after many months of illness on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at ARMC surrounded by his family. Benny was born in Rockingham County, March 1, 1944 to the late Willis Denton Moorefield and Louise Justice Moorefield. He was the husband of 48 years to Patricia "Pat" Senter Moorefield who survives. Benny retired from A. D. Pate Printing after over 25 years of service. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan and Nascar fan. Benny was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him. Benny enjoyed his family beach house at Myrtle Beach for over 40 years creating many cherished memories for his family and friends. Benny is survived by his wife, Pat Moorefield of the home; son, Shannon Moorefield and wife, Kari of Burlington; step grandsons, Trey and Drake Andrews and a step great grandson, Hudson Andrews; sister, Betty Thompson and husband, Robbie of Burlington and a brother, Rev. Donnie Moorefield of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Craig Cox and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at the funeral home, other times at the residence and at the home of his sister, Betty Thompson.
