Burlington – Bennie “Sue” Louella Conklin Cook, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Hospice Home following several months of failing health. She was born in Alamance County on August 29, 1931 to the late Lindley and Annie Johnson Conklin and was the wife of 60 years to the late Roy “Bill” Daniel Cook.
Sue was a longtime member of Faith Bible Chapel. She worked many years for Western Electric as a phone operator and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She loved collecting things from auctions, yard sales, etc. and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Davis (Robert), Linda Wall; granddaughter, Leslie Prince (Nathan); great grandchildren, Connor Long, Isaiah Prince and sister, Mickey Renigar Parrish (L.B.).
A service to celebrate her life will be held 1:00pm on July 3, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Mack Ray with a private burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:45 prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
